Live from the blue carpet at the premiere of Kelly Slater’s new movie “The Ultimate Wave Tahiti” on a chilly night in Los Angeles. The evening was perfect and we were there to catch the fashion happenings as they stepped and repeated!
The night brought out the effortlessly beach chic women and we caught every moment, and the highlight was a one-on-one with Kelly Slater and his beautiful girlfriend Kalani Miller. Stay tuned for broadcast!
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.”- Mary Lou Cook
With that said, let’s get creative!!
Taking an old piece and making it new, exciting and original is one of the best ways to express your fashion sense.
The Insanity vest (available now) really caught our eye for spring. We love its old-school look with a modern twist. It inspired us to dig up some old pieces from our closet and create another statement vest to add to our spring wardrobe.
We found an old, faded, hooded denim shirt, and an old studded belt, then we deconstructed them. We added the studs to our new vest. We ended up with an original piece inspired by our Spring 2010 Insanity vest. We are looking forward to rocking both looks this spring!

QSW intern/blogger creating her own statement vest
We, the three musketeers of QSW design, are in a creative state of mind, just coming out of an intense period of designing for next spring’s collection. Here’s what’s on our minds for right now:
Legs, well, she’s a sucker for stripes — aren’t we all? Something about her inner Parisienne … and stripes + a unique details like the twisting stripes = true love:
Check out the QSW St. Mary’s dress, too –
Blond is up to something … plotting the perfect thing to wear at the first sign of spring weather this year: this sick pair of modern-and-70’s-at-the-same-time platforms with dirty-and-destroyed denim bellbottoms like our Southbank jeans:
And MB is feeling this:
Break out the scissors for a little rainy-day DIY.
See ya next week!

Every season there is one item that becomes my obsession – I can’t help but notice it everywhere, I can’t quit ripping out editorials featuring the look and I can’t stop wearing it. I know, I need help!
This season my obsession is the military jacket, and Quiksilver Women’s York version is to DIE FOR. It is everything I want in a military-inspired jacket – it has the drawstring waist, the patch pockets and the surplus green color I crave.
So yes, of course I picked one up – I couldn’t resist, and the great thing is that I don’t have to wait till the weather turns warm to take it for a spin. Nope. I wear it Now & Then.. and this is how I work it.
Now, I layer it with a striped tee, the QSW Karma destroyed ankle jeans, lace-up boots, and top it off for warmth with a fur vest and cozy black beanie.
Then, I will go easy and wear it with the QSW Wonderwall tank and crazy love cutoff shorts. Keeping it cool with studded sandals and my sunnies!

As previously mentioned, I have been hard at work producing a photo shoot for B. Jones Style, which showcases what I do as a personal stylist. Yesterday was the big day – and the result was picture perfect.
I had an amazing team working with me, and I am so thankful for everyone’s contribution.
The purpose of the shoot was to capture three of my clients in their now very signature looks. It was blast to see all of them in a room looking oh-so-chic but very different. Style at it’s best!
More to come on the days events, but here is look from behind the lens.
All Acoustic Show
As Quiksilver Women, we love to incorporate music, art and fashion into our daily lives. Music and fashion tend to go hand in hand, whether the music inspires the trends or vice versa!!
We are headed into a period of more “independent styling”; there is no single trend, and there are no rules. Fashion gurus wear what they want when they want: fashion, like music, has no boundaries! Upcoming indie bands, like Moostache, break the music mold by creating a unique, independent sound and draw a crowd that is equally as interesting and creative.
Recently, Huntington Beach’s own local indie group, Moostache, played an all-acoustic show in Laguna Beach, Calif. They played at the Blue Laguna, a small venue right off Pacific Coast Highway. We were there to check out a great night of independent, up-and-coming artists.

Mozambique Shorts and Smith Crew-Neck .... thrifted blazer and combat boots
Moostache was the shows headliner – their nearly poetic sounding lyrics and mix of rock, folk and blues-inspired elements instantly captivated the audience.
The group often interacted with the audience creating a great vibe throughout the crowd. They took requests and at one point busted out an impromptu Lady Gaga cover, hilarious! The audience could really feel their sense of humor but also their pure passion for music.

Moostache is in the process of promoting their debut album “The Body Disagrees,” and also recently released an all-acoustic album titled “Acoustache.” Their acoustic album along with their debut album is available online. “Acoustache” can be downloaded as a “pay-what- you-want” album. Their first album, “The Body Disagrees” is available on iTunes! Download it today!!!!
