Spring is almost upon us. Almost.

In anticipation for this season’s light effortless layers and lived-in, loved-in styles, we invited some of our personal fashion heroes – a.k.a. our favorite New York bloggers – to come check out our spring 2010 collection. Inspired by the amazing location – a dream penthouse towering over the West Village- we decided to add a little twist to the event. Armed with a photographer and videographer, we asked these fashion connoisseurs to pick out their favorite pieces and style them to reflect their unique fashion perspectives. We were thrilled to see the results. Each woman put her personal spin on things and gave us beautiful and oftentimes unexpected spring combinations to inspire any wardrobe. But what else do we expect from these talented fashion mavens?

Meet Katharine Carter, a true-blue California girl. Her days are spent shredding waves, skating down boardwalks, working-out to keep a healthy physique and making art to express herself.

Enter Beth Jones (me!), loaded down with racks of Quiksilver Women’s 2009 Holiday collection and ideas up-the-wazoo to ensure Katharine sparkles through the cold and blistery winter months.

It is another segment of Getting Dressed with Quiksilver Women - but this time it’s all about a Holiday Revamp!

We will be invading our Cali-girl’s closet, tossing in some holiday looks from the collection and twirling and whirling her into a rock-surf-goddess! Should be fun, right?

Finally, our last closet to visit during our New York City adventure belonged to Sora An, a rock and roll tomboy living in Brooklyn’s mysterious and alluring Hasidic Jewish neighborhood. She is a whirlwind of activity – rocking out on her guitar daily, whipping up scrumptious meals as a personal chef, and serving it on the rocks at The Standard Hotel’s bar scene. She is fashion at it’s best – tossed together and effortless.

Fall brings flurry to fashion. There is more to getting dressed, more to layer on and more “umph” put into daily style. With this approaching season, Quiksilver Women’s went to New York City, the place where getting dressed has become an art, to see how a few Big Apple girls create their masterpieces.

Beth Jones, online fashion editor for Quiksilver Women’s, opens the doors into three very different New York women’s closets to get a sneak peek into what they are doing for the upcoming fall season and how the Quiksilver Women’s collection will fit into their enviable style.

First up, Meg Cuna, a sassy fashion maven living in New York’s river playground, Tribeca Park. Being full of creative energy she has dipped her toe into many interesting roles – owning a bar in chic downtown, working at the fabulous Lucky Magazine and now starting up Stylecaster.com, a new fashion site that blends content, commerce and community. Her look reflects her layered lifestyle – a bit bohemian, rock-and-roll and modern-chic all rolled into one.
