She is a creative soul, she has spirit.. and she defines “pretty tough” style. I guess she should since she is a part of the Quiksilver Womens team!
She is known for your effortless style, she is the queen of distressed denim – ripping and bleaching to her hearts content, and without a doubt she rocks the perfect tousled bed head. Take cues from her girly mini dresses tossed together with edgy accessories and keep it easy with a carefree summer head wrap!
She is our Quiksilver Woman of the Week, Sara! (upcoming video on how she distresses her denim.. stay tuned!)
It is that time of year, the end of the carefree days and the beginning of reality setting back in – that’s right – it is back to school time!
Ok, so maybe you are not cramming for tests, shopping for your new “trapper keeper” (remember those?), or stuffing your lunch bag with goodies for the day – but you can’t help but notice the transition of seasons and the desire to wear your latest school girl look!
So, even if you aren’t dashing out the door to catch the bus – don’t be afraid to wear your best version of ”school-girl-chic”.
Quick! August is here.. September is approaching and if you follow strict fashion rules – white is out of season after Labor Day. Nah… I don’t really buy it. Wear what you want, when you want!
White denim is a summer trend that looks so fresh and can be worn straight into those summer-ish fall months. Whether you are city-chic, rock-chic or hippie-chic.. this look is for you.
The city-chic girl should pair the Harper jeans with a relaxed solid tee, simple layered necklaces, a boyfriend blazer and leopard print flats.
The rock-chic girl should begin by distressing the Harper jeans and then pairing them with a black lace body suit layered under a loose slouchy tank, stacked bracelets, and studded gladiator sandals.
The hippie-chic girl should think easy-breezy and pair the Harper jeans with a floral loose peasant top, a big ‘ole floppy hat, sandals and a suede fringe tote bag.
See! They are the best and deserve to be worn no matter what the rule book says.
Four fabulous cities – one major hotel – and QUIKSILVER make up a heavenly collaboration!
This year the trendy STANDARD Hotel joined with QUIKSILVER to supply instant style gratification to all who party poolside. A vending machine grants your swim suit fantasies and spits out retro-vibe board shorts and one chic bikini all from QUIKSILVER. When the weather is blazing there is no hotter place to cool it off.
To kick off this swimsuit marriage, Polyvore.com (fashionista’s mix and match online community) held a contest to challenge their style cat’s to create looks inspired by the fab four – New York, Los Angeles, Hollywood and Miami. Close to 1000 entries came pouring in and the inspiration overflowed.
Here is just a few that have me jumping on a plane and jet-setting to the land of FABULOUS!
Well there you have it.. our Getting Dressed with Quiksilver Women comes to a close! It was ridiculously amazing to meet all of our featured women – hang out in their closets- and see their fabulous style taken to the streets.
Before we close the closet, I wanted to give you one final look at each creation so that you can be inspired while you’re Getting Dressed!
Finally, our last closet to visit during our New York City adventure belonged to Sora An, a rock and roll tomboy living in Brooklyn’s mysterious and alluring Hasidic Jewish neighborhood. She is a whirlwind of activity – rocking out on her guitar daily, whipping up scrumptious meals as a personal chef, and serving it on the rocks at The Standard Hotel’s bar scene. She is fashion at it’s best – tossed together and effortless.
Paying tribute to your self-proclaimed “hippie-happy” look, she mixed belly baring fringe and this summer’s staples – jean cut-offs and eye-catching gladiator sandals!
Continuing the Getting Dressed series is Chantal Van der Meijdena, whimsical nymph of a girl living in New York’s Upper West Side inspiring the fashion world as a trend forecaster, but personally is an original fashion artist. Her sense of style is based solely on her childhood dreams and fantasies, and everyday she flits and floats through city streets.
Let’s see how she dresses up the Quiksilver Women’s Fall Collection!
