With the fall collection hitting stores, it is fun to see how each piece takes on the personal style of the women who wear it. Until girl meets dress – it is just a dress. Once the relationship begins it blossoms into something beautiful.
The White Plains Maxi Dress met its match with Anna Leddra Chapman, our London songbird. She chose to add a transitional scarf to the dress and keep it easy on the beach for her new music video the “Story”. To hear more about her story, check outher personal diary of the days events.
Fall brings flurry to fashion. There is more to getting dressed, more to layer on and more “umph” put into daily style. With this approaching season, Quiksilver Women’s went to New York City, the place where getting dressed has become an art, to see how a few Big Apple girls create their masterpieces.
Beth Jones, online fashion editor for Quiksilver Women’s, opens the doors into three very different New York women’s closets to get a sneak peek into what they are doing for the upcoming fall season and how the Quiksilver Women’s collection will fit into their enviable style.
First up, Meg Cuna, a sassy fashion maven living in New York’s river playground, Tribeca Park. Being full of creative energy she has dipped her toe into many interesting roles – owning a bar in chic downtown, working at the fabulous Lucky Magazine and now starting up Stylecaster.com, a new fashion site that blends content, commerce and community. Her look reflects her layered lifestyle – a bit bohemian, rock-and-roll and modern-chic all rolled into one.
Let’s see how she dresses up the Quiksilver Women’s Fall Collection!
It won’t be summer much longer, and soon we will be creeping towards fall. This in between time can reek havoc on a girl’s closet. The stores are brimming with fall gems and your desires to wear shorts and sandals will decrease. Suddenly the thought of tights and boots seem so much more fun. What’s a girl to do? How do you start to mix in your new fall goodies with your summer lightweights?
Take a cue from It Girl, Krystal Simpson who didn’t shy away from wearing her favorite Quiksilver Women’s summer tank when it was a bit cooler outside. She flawlessly layered up her summer must-have with a cozy hoodie and the fall season’s statement jacket. A perfect blend of summer sizzle and fall funk.
She sashays down Stockholm’s city streets carrying off the chic rock-and-roll vibe with what seems like no effort. She is the fashion editor of Swedish blognetwork Feber.se, and she is inspiring girls all across the globe daily with her personal blog.
Her style mixes deconstructed denim, 90’s biker shorts and leather jackets galore. She pulls you in with her piercing eyes and forever long legs. She is our Quiksilver Woman of the Week.. Caroline Blomst.
July is the month that things start looking a little hazy – the heat has you cranking up the AC, heading coastal and using any and every opportunity to get yourself wet! This mid summer heat requires minimal clothing, and not all of us have the luxury of lazing by the pool in our bikini 24/7. At some point you gotta wear clothes – so why not top it off with a tank top.
Though wearing a tank may seem like a limiting option, Quiksilver Womens is here to show you how to rock out in your TANK CHIC STYLE!
The heat is on! The sun is out in all its glory and layers are being tossed off left and right. It is summer, the time of year that requires the least amount of clothing possible. It’s your moment to take style poolside, dockside or beachside.
While suiting up and heading out for some rays – channel the iconic girls of summer. Who can forget Gidget in her surfer girl bikini, Farrah Fawcett in her red one-piece, or Pamela Anderson in her Baywatch uniform. They made their mark – now go out and make your own.
Become an iconic girl of summer in the Kennaways Bikini, with its mis-matched top and bottom and great 70’s flair.
Our little gem in Jersey City rocked out with Quiksilver Women on an unseasonably cool night. Tia’s Place was filled with fashion lovers, music lovers and party lovers – a perfect combination.
The owner, Megan O’Sullivan, made the evening extra special by frosting the entire shop in the Quiksilver Women’s collection, and our E.P.I.C girls made their mark with a intimate performance by Tennille and a personalized “water station” explaining the need for clean water in African villages.
The evening sparkled in downtown Jersey City! (Good news for Manhattan girls – Megan is opening a Tia’s Place in Grand Central Station – set to open this summer!)
